Give my car to my son
And my bullets to someone
Who can use them
Or any names to write
My wine to the priest
Let him bless it
And drink it with the poor
My money to the national Bank
Tell them to spend it on our country
My wife, let my brother take
her hand in marriage
And let her live happily
without remembering she’s a widow
Give my horse to a lonely orphan
Let him ride to the sunset
And my guns to the white man
Tell him I loved the war
Once I nearly got everything I wished
Family, wealth and peace
I fought, I won, I bled
But nearly doesn’t count
The greatest thing I saw in war
Was the heart to love
The love of one
As long as my kin smiles
My enemies jubilate
And my nation breathes
I am free
And I am happy
Even though I lay in my grave
Death isn’t a weapon
but kindness
It solidifies the heart and
calms the deceased
I have finished my work
I see greatness in the future
Live as long as you can
Be happy
I love you
I am free
