When ambition is rooted
As a destitute of corruption,
Sooner rather than later,
It’ll oust itself
As a weakling sacrifice
To vanity, conceit and obstinacy!
Rapacious passions
Feeding on ego’s caprices
Are fleeting castles.
Aren’t they swiftly burnt out
By public odium and rejection?
For in their trails
Is despicable frailty.
Detestable vice
Whips public anger.
Good deeds are quickly eclipsed
By questionable actions.
Until deeds are uncovered,
People stand tall
As stoic edifices,
In felicitous tenderness
To individuals.
We forbear
To descend to particulars.
But when the lie
Is ultimately exposed,
The fall from grace
Is the exploding lie
Chastised by truth!
Falsity is the quicksand
Of deception.
Justice and time
Are sure swords
To slit ill humours!
Modesty is the firstborn
Of humility and moderation.
Else, pompous exhibitions
Lead to ruinous outcomes.
Discipline is constancy’s consonant
To truth and propriety.
As pretence feeds the public
To be horrified,
Ill behaviour produces
Public abhorrence.
Pernicious conduct
Leads to rejection,
And culprits rarely receive
Public embraces,
As the people frown
Upon them in jeers.
