If you have no property,
You are about to be forgotten.
How can you remember your grandfather
And his grandfather
When they left you nothing?
If they left you property
Which you can leave for your children,
That they will leave for their children,
Their children will remember your name!
Property is the license for memory.
It’s an unmistakable address,
A fixture in the clue of lineage,
A very unmistakable awareness opener,
Linking the present to the past
As it draws the line focusing on the future.
Property preserved shields the name to last,
As witnesses rhyme the departed’s presence
In acres and blocks of architecture.
A man’s name is forever an imprint of resonance
On Block 1, Plot 11, in fee simple!
Visible in the market,
Clear on the street,
Cited in patents and trademarks.
Property is the color of right,
As possession is ninety-nine percent ownership!
